Cards on Wilber Ave. 1/25/08
Went and played some Texas hold'em over at Kevin's house tonight on Wilber Ave. in North Canton, Oh. It was a good time as it always is when I'm playing poker. There were seven of us playing a hold'em cash game at his house. I ended up winning some money at the end of the night so that is always an added bonus to the fun. They play the 7-2 rule at his house. You might not know it, but 7-2 is the worst starting hand you can have when playing hold'em. The rule is, if you win the hand with 7-2 everyone at the table has to throw you some extra chips. I love this bonus as I am usually in there bluffing a lot so when you can extra chips for doing it it is even sweeter. It was kind of disappointing though because I never got 7-2 the whole night. I was hitting some lucky cards though. I was flopping sets every time I had a pocket pair and that almost never happens so I was winning a lot. I'll tell you about one hand. I pocket 7's in my hand and the flop was 10-7-3. One of the other guys bet all of his chips and I called and another guy bet all of his chips and I called. I had the 77, so I had three sevens. One of the guys had JJ, so that is all he had and the other guy had A-10, so he had a pair of tens. I ended up winning the hand the guy with JJ got so mad, I thought it was pretty funny. I scooped the chips and the guy that was mad left the game. I'll tell you about another hand that I played out. I had A-10 and another guy had 3-4. The flop was 10-3-4. I had top pair and he had two pair. He bet and I raised him as I know he likes to bluff into me a lot. I reraised me for all his chips because he knows that I bluff a lot. I decided to call and he ended up winning with the 3-4. I still don't know why he would be in there playing with a 3-4, but he'll end up losing more money than he'll make on it in the end. Thats all for this night, it was a fun night full of poker.
